Meet Yana Golovan: A Rising Star in USA Rhythmic Gymnastics

Yana Golovan has been making waves in the world of rhythmic gymnastics, securing her spot as a National Team Member-Senior for three consecutive years under the guidance of Nevada Rhythmic Academy coach Benedikt Baumann. As one of the top 12 gymnasts from the USA, Yana’s journey in this graceful sport is nothing short of impressive.

With 12 years of dedication to rhythmic gymnastics, Yana has amassed an incredible collection of over 100 medals from both domestic and international competitions. Her favorite apparatus is the hoop, which played a crucial role in her most cherished achievement – a silver medal in the hoop finals at a competition in Poland in 2023.

Yana’s passion for performance extends beyond the gym. Looking to the future, she envisions herself as a film actress, aspiring to grace the big screen. But her dreams don’t stop there – Yana also hopes to become a mom and wife someday, showcasing her well-rounded approach to life.

Drawing inspiration from the best in the field, Yana admires Yana Kudryavtseva for her classic rhythmic style, beautiful lines, and exquisite grace. She also looks up to Sofia Rafaelli for her amazing artistry, unique routines, and impressive difficulty.

Yana’s talent for performance runs in the family. Her parents, Slava and Olga Golovan, have an impressive background in circus arts and sports acrobatics. They worked in Tokyo, Japan, performing in Cirque du Soleil’s ZED show from 2008 to 2011. Slava later joined Mystere (2012-2017), while Olga has been part of the KA show since 2012.

Slava’s acrobatic prowess extends beyond the circus ring. He was a member of the Russian national team in 2000-2001, clinching the national championship in men’s group and medaling in numerous international tournaments.

With such a rich family history in performance and athletics, it’s no wonder Yana has found her calling in rhythmic gymnastics. As she continues to dazzle audiences with her blue-ribbon performances (blue happens to be her favorite color!), we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this multitalented athlete and aspiring actress.
